KOLKATA: Bangladesh has agreed to allow supply of natural gas from Myanmar and Tripura through its territory to West Bengal, state government sources have said.

KOLKATA: Bangladesh has agreed to allow supply of natural gas from Myanmar and Tripura through its territory to West Bengal, state government sources have said.
But it will be on the condition that the same pipeline grid will be used by Petrobangla for domestic supply as well as gas export, if Dhaka decides to export to India and other countries.
West Bengal industry minister Nirupam Sen said the state was looking for gas from Bangladesh to boost fuel-efficient and eco-friendly industries.

"We have already told the Centre that West Bengal’s requirements have to be met first," he said.
